All eligible Hong Kong residents can receive subsidised or free quadrivalent influenza vaccines. Amber Medical is committed to enhancing the health of individuals, families, and communities. We are now providing influenza vaccination services to reduce the spread of influenza in the community.

Eligible individuals for influenza vaccination include:

• Persons aged 50 or above (count by year of birth)

• Children and adolescents aged 6 months to under 18 years

• Students aged 18 or above studying in Hong Kong secondary schools

• Pregnant women

• Individuals with intellectual disabilities

• Recipients of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) classified as "100% disabled" or "requiring constant attendance"

 

The influenza vaccine is an effective measure to prevent seasonal influenza and its complications. The flu season typically begins in winter each year, and it takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop. Therefore, it is advisable to get vaccinated as early as possible to establish a protective barrier before the peak flu season.

Especially for patients with chronic health issues and the elderly, the risk of serious health problems and complications due to influenza infection is significantly increased. It is recommended that all residents aged 6 months and above, except those with lower immunity or contraindications, receive the influenza vaccine to reduce the risk of infection.
